The method involves extruding a web of material having generally non-planar profile comprising generally corrugated shape with continuous peaks (48) and valleys (50). The peaks and valleys are formed by connecting portions (52) extending in direction of travel (43) of an extruded web (42). Selected areas of the extruded web are flattened. The extruded web is folded along transversely extending fold lines. A set of openings e.g. circular, is formed in the extruded web. The extruded web is flattened in selected areas by a tool i.e. laser cutter.
