The method involves determining a contour of interest on a two-dimensional (2D) image. The 2D image is deformed along the contour to highlight one of elements of the 2D image identified by the contour, so as to provide a transformed image, where the deformation is performed by convex or concave bending of the 2D image along the contour if the contour is rectilinear, or by convex or concave bending of the 2D image at the level of the contour if the contour is not rectilinear. The transformed image is consolidated.
