The device (DP) has a switching unit for switching a request, output from of an application (AP1), towards a secondary local area network with which another application is coupled via a secure tunnel (T1) established by a communication network (RC) between the main switching device and a secondary switching device coupled to the secondary local area network secondary. The switching unit directs a reply message output from the latter application via the secure tunnel towards the former application. An independent claim is also included for a secondary switching device.
