PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably obtain useful information in FAX communication such as CSI and TSI.SOLUTION: A facsimile communication device for performing facsimile communication with an opposite device comprises a control unit that executes first control to determine presence or absence of an ID information signal when exchanging a capability information signal with the opposite device after establishment of call connection with the opposite device, second control to determine whether there is an error in the ID information signal if it was determined that the ID information signal was present, and third control, if it was determined that there was an error in the ID information signal, to wait for retransmission of the capability information signal and the ID information signal without transmitting a training signal or a response signal for the training signal, and if a set of the capability information signal and the errorless ID information signal was obtained, stores the set of the signals and transmits the training signal or the response signal.
