PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tandem thin film solar cell suitable to the environmental conditions of an installation place easily.;SOLUTION: A design method of a tandem thin film solar cell comprises: a step of calculating the optical characteristics information of each photoelectric conversion unit independently from the dependence on the shape of other layer and electrical dependence; a step of calculating power loss of a design structure by using the electrical characteristics information of each photoelectric conversion unit; and a step of comparing the power loss with a predetermined threshold and determining whether or not the power loss falls within an allowable range. When the power loss is less than a predetermined threshold, the design structure is considered as the final structure and the design is ended. When the power loss is larger than a predetermined threshold, a step of determining a new design structure by adjusting at least one of the optical properties information, electrical properties information, and shape information is performed, and then the calculation step is repeated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2015,JPO&INPIT
