The reduced-pressure polyploidization process preferably includes a reduced-pressure treatment step of reducing the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere in a state of the bud of the plant of the genus Pyrus soaked in a polyploid-inducing solution containing the polyploid inducer, a normal pressure-returning step of gradually returning the surrounding atmosphere to a normal pressure while keeping the state of the bud soaked in the polyploid-inducing solution obtained in the reduced-pressure treatment step, and a normal-pressure soaking step of keeping the bud obtained by the normal pressure-returning step in the state soaked in the polyploid-inducing solution in the normal-pressure atmosphere for a prescribed time.
