The invention relates to a process and an installation for controlled inoculation of a liquid mycelium into plastic bags filled with sterilized compost, intended for the culture of edible and therapeutical mushrooms. According to the invention, the process consists in inoculating liquid mycelium by automatically making, using an effector of a robot, successive and progressive in-depth breakthroughs into some cylindrical plastic bags filled with sterilized compost, during inoculation the operation time of a membrane pump being correlated to the injection flow rate, in order to provide the desired amount of inoculum, as to achieve a homogeneous distribution thereof in each bag, provided with a distribution network with tree-like structure. The installation, as claimed by the invention, comprises an effector, a distribution-dosing system (3) and an accessory support (8), where the effector consists of an intermediate reservoir (1) provided with a stirrer (2) driven by an electric motor (3) and a worm reducer (4), the distribution-dosing system (3) consisting of a membrane pump (2), a three-way flow divider (6), a hose network (7) and three injectors (9) in connection whereof a covering system is mounted, said system comprising a flap (10) covering the injectors (9), entrained by some levers (14) actuated by a coil (15).
