The invention relates to a method for the detection of aerial obstacles for visually impaired people, in the form of a portable electronic device comprising a dual camera that can film in stereo. The method comprises a step of obtaining 3D data using stereo vision, a step of establishing a histogram of distances using the 3D data, and a step of detecting obstacles on the basis of the histogram.
