The invention relates to a plate (2-5) for a magnetic cooling element consisting of an assembly of blocks (1), formed from a powder (10) of at least one magnetocaloric material, characterised in that said material is an intermetallic magnetocaloric material, in that the plate has a thickness of between 5 and 500 μm, and in that the plate is formed by means of a strip-casting method. The invention also relates to a block (1) of a magnetic cooling element, characterised in that it consists of a stack of such magnetocaloric plates (2-5). The invention further relates to a magnetic cooling element consisting of a succession of such blocks (1), and to the methods for producing such a plate (2-5) and such a block (1).
