The surface material comprises a plastic film having etched surfaces. One of the etched surfaces of the plastic film is provided with a radiation-curable coating, and the plastic film comprises a polyethylene terephthalate film. The coating further comprises antibacterial, anti-static and/or photo-catalytic additives. The surface material is provided, on a surface that is not provided with a coating, with a counter-pressure. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for producing a surface material; (2) a laminate; and (3) a method for producing a laminate.
