The fire alarm device (1) has a fire gas detector (5) for detecting fire effluents. The fire gas detector comprises a light emitter (5a) and a light receiver (5b) for receiving light radiation of the light emitter. The light emitter and the light receiver are arranged, such that an absorption measuring section (A) is present between the light emitter and the light receiver. The light emitter is formed as an ultraviolet light source. An optical element (6) is connected upstream of the ultraviolet light-emitting diode and the light receiver for reducing interference radiation.
