The turbine (1) has an extraction pressure controller (7) for controlling extraction pressure over a pressure control valve (8) if the extraction pressure is larger than a threshold value. The pressure controller controls tapping pressure over the control valve if the tapping pressure is smaller than the threshold value. The pressure controller comprises a first regulator (12), which is active if the extraction pressure is larger than the threshold value. The pressure controller comprises second regulator (17), which is active if the tapping pressure is smaller than the threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a steam turbine.
