The fuel cell (10) has a water channel (24) removing water from an anode-cathode stack (12). The water channel is adapted to remove the water from and supply the water to the anode-cathode stack. The water channel is designed with one or multiple discharge channels (22) and a water conveying device (28), which are adapted to low pressure for removing the water from the anode-cathode stack and high pressure for supplying the water into the anode-cathode stack. A temperature-measurement device (30) determines temperature of the anode-cathode stack.
