PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly divide a three-dimensional model with a small amount of calculation by reducing influence of noise.;SOLUTION: A three-dimensional model division method is configured by including: a bounded plane generation step that processes entire triangles included in the input three-dimensional model on the basis of triangle polygon data of the three-dimensional model, and generates at least one bounded plane applied to divide the three-dimensional model; a contour diagram extraction step of extracting a contour diagram of the three-dimensional model via the generated bounded plane; and a contour diagram division step of dividing the extracted contour diagram into one sub-graph satisfying a prescribed condition or at least two sub-graphs that do not overlap with each other on the basis of information of the generated bounded plane and information of a vertex-adjacency graph of the three-dimensional model. Further, a three-dimensional model division apparatus and an image processing system including the apparatus are provided. Correctness and efficiency of three-dimensional model division can be improved via the method, the apparatus and the system of a disclosed technique.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
