Process for preparing raw {beta}glucan from sporocarps of oyster cap mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) or from oyster cap mushroom culturing substrate

The present invention is characterized in that a buffer with pH value in the range of 9.5 to 10.0 is prepared from the Nai2COi3 and NaHCOi3 solution, the buffer is then hated to a temperature of at least 58 degC. Subsequently, crushed parts of oyster cap mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) sporocarps and/or the substrate for culturing the oyster cap mushroom grown through with mycelium of that fungus, are mixed into the solution, wherein the fraction of the admixed parts lies within the range of 5 to 10 mm, where dry matter content of the mixture of the buffer and admixed parts is in the range of 5 to 8 percent. Subsequently, extraction thereof takes place under perpetual stirring whereupon filtrate is separated, heated, neutralized, cooled down, and the precipitated proteins are centrifuged. After centrifuging, the same amount of 2-propanol being cooled down to the temperature in the range of 2 to 4 degC is added to the liquid, the mixture is agitated and the precipitated raw {beta} glucan is centrifuged. Preferably, the centrifuged {beta} glucan is dissolved in distilled water and dispersed by an ultrasonic disintegrator at a temperature ranging from 90 to 100 degC to yield a colloidal solution.
