Disclosed are a magnetic composite microsphere loaded with precious metal quantum dots and a preparation method thereof. The magnetic composite microsphere comprises a magnetic polymer microsphere and precious metal quantum dots loaded on a surface of the magnetic polymer microsphere. The magnetic composite microsphere in the present invention uses the magnetic polymer microsphere as a carrier to load the precious metal quantum dots on the surface, and has an excellent magnetic property; a movement direction of the magnetic composite microsphere can be controlled under the action of the an external magnetic field; light-heat conversion of microspheres absorbed in an infrared region can be effectively realized; and the magnetic composite microsphere has a wide application range in fields such as tumor thermotherapy.
