A system for producing ultrapure water having a resistivity of at least 18.0 megohm.cm and a total organic carbon content of less than 1 ppb, comprising the following elements, all of which are in fluid communication with each other: (a) an input water source (40) ; (b) a pump (44); (c) at least two dual housings (A, B) for receiving at least five cleaning media selected from the group consisting of redox media, acid washed bituminous activated carbon, acid washed coconut shell activated carbon, mixed grade ion exchange resin, and catalytic activated carbon with a peroxide number ≤ 14, each double housing having two adjacent chambers 1 and 2 separated by a common wall (20-24) and in fluid communication in series with each other, such that both chambers 1 and 2 are in the same direction from top to bottom and wherein each double housing (A, B) on the upper end cap (12) via a fluid inlet port (18) and a Permeatauslaßöffnung (28) has; (d) a resistivity sensor (52); (e) a distribution valve (54) capable of delivering ultrapure water from the system while preventing downstream flow; (f) a point-of-use filter (55), downstream and proximate to the distribution valve (54), and having a mean pore size rating of up to 0.2 micrometers capable of removing particles and bacteria; (g) a first control valve (57) between the pump (44) and the distribution valve (54) to prevent backflow of the feed water; and (h) a filter compound sampling port (60) in communication with an instrument (62) capable of analyzing the total organic carbon content of the ultrapure water produced by the system.
