PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nanographene which is less liable to cause autoagglutination and achieves efficient adsorption onto a particle surface, and which has high ionic conductivity and hence achieves a lithium ion battery having satisfactory output characteristics and cycle characteristics when used as a material for electrodes.SOLUTION: A nanographene has a plane direction dimension of not less than 20 nm nor more than 100 nm and a thickness of not more than 10 nm. A functionalization ratio of the nanographene measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurement is not less than 0.35 nor more than 0.80.SELECTED DRAWING: None
