PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce man-hours for calculating a heat generation quantity by combustion of a spark ignition internal combustion engine, reduce man-hours for creating a combustion model, and reduce design and development cost.;SOLUTION: A supply quantity of fuel supplied into each cylinder is estimated (step ST41), and a discharge quantity of the fuel discharged to an outside of the cylinder in an unburned state is estimated on the basis of a fuel density (for example, a fuel density at heat generation rate maximum time ρfuel@dQpeak) (ST42), an estimated value of the discharge quantity is subtracted from an estimated value of the supply quantity to find a fuel combustion amount per combustion cycle (ST43), and a heat generation quantity is calculated based on the combustion amount (ST44).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT
