The invention provides using a composition, comprising enterically coated cystamine or cysteamine as a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or amide, for treating cystinosis, wherein said composition is administered twice per day. The invention also provides a method of treating a subject with cystinosis, comprising administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition, comprising cysteamine or cystamine in an enteric dosage form, increasing delivery to the small intestine, wherein said pharmaceutical composition is administered twice per day.
