摘要

The present invention provides a method to prepare microwave synthesized plasma sprayable gadolinium oxide stabilized/doped zirconia powder for thermal barrier coating applications, wherein the composition of zirconia of about 75 to 85 percent by we ight and composition of gadolinium oxide of about 15 to 25 percent by weight is subjected to microwave sintering at abou t 1600oC for about 30 minutes. Microwave sintering allows the heat to distribute uniformly throughout the material which improves the quality of the material and reduces the sintering time duration.
