METHOD FOR PREPARING DEHYDRATED MANZANITAS (Muntingia Calabura) AS A RAISIN SUBSTITUTE

The present utility relates to a process of preparing manzanitas comprising the steps of; selecting manzanitas fruit, washing with tap water, steaming, oven drying, compressing the dehydrated fruits, mixing of syrup coconut sugar, refrigerating the dehydrated product, packaging and sealing the finished product. The present process provides an alternative to expensive raisin and that is readily available for consumer. It also increases the demand for the underutilized manzanitas fruit and adds value to the finished product.
