An exoskeleton system (100) comprising: a trunk (109) for coupling a person; the leg supports (101, 102) for coupling to the lower extremities (143, 144) of the person; and a plurality of sensors (160, 161) designed to detect the forces on the supports (101, 102) of the legs that are indicative of a position; characterized by: the motorized joints (125, 126) adapted to provide relative angular movement between the supports (101, 102) of the legs and the trunk (109); and a controller (159) for receiving the signals (219, 220) detected from the plurality of sensors (160, 161), the said signals (219, 220) indicating the position indicating, and controlling said controller (159) the performance of at least one of the joints (125, 126) motorized to perform an action based on the indicated position.
