[Problem] To provide a TG mouse that expresses TGF-β1 specific to the kidneys and spontaneously develops renal fibrosis. This is achieved in the form of a transgenic mouse characterized by including a mouse Podocin promoter area, and an entire gene area of the human transformation factor β1 (human TGF-β1) which is located downstream of the promoter area and of which expression is controlled. At this time, the transgenic mouse preferably develops renal fibrosis or renal insufficiency naturally from 15 weeks after birth, and begins to die at 20 to 26 weeks after birth.
