The present invention relates to a method for producing poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyhexanoate) [P(HB-co-HHx) having a high 3-hydroxy hexanoate (3HHx) content by using butyrate from Ralstonia eutropha, which is modified to produce P(HB-co-HHx), as a carbon source. According the present invention, P(HB-co-HHx), a bioplastic having a high 3-hydroxy hexanoate content, with enhanced physical properties, can be produced from butyrate.
