The present invention relates to a specific biomarker for identification of exposure of a human body to volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and a method for identification of exposure to volatile organic compounds using the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a biomarker whose gene expression increases or decreases specifically depending on whether a human body is exposed to a typical chemical of volatile organic compounds, toluene or xylene, alone or in combination, and to a method for identifying whether a human body is exposed to toluene or xylene alone or in combination by using the same. The specific biomarker for identification of exposure of a human body to volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and the method for identification of exposure to volatile organic compounds using the same use response genes selected through a DNA microarray chip as biomarkers. Thus, it is possible to monitor whether a human body is exposed specifically to toluene or xylene, alone or in combination, among volatile organic compounds in early stages. Therefore, the biomarker and the method are useful for judging human body risk. Further, the biomarker and the method are useful as a means for investigating a toxic action mechanism caused by toluene and/or xylene.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
