Device comprises a support surface for arranging cells, a substrate with textured surface, wherein the surface is in contact with cells arranged on the support surface. Support surface and textured surface are located at a distance of 10 µm from each other. Textured surface has base surface and anisotropic three-dimensional structure having a repeated pattern. Said pattern has a sequence of guide gaps, where each of the guide gaps is configured to receive one of cells and oriented in the direction of anisotropy. Anisotropic three-dimensional structure contains multiple pairs of guide surfaces, wherein each pair of guide surfaces comprises first and second guide surfaces between which one of the guide gaps is formed.
