One or more top sheets A may be joined to one or more bottom sheets B via a peripheral elasticated edging strip C, which may be insulated. The strip allows relative movement between sheets A and B providing expansion between the sheets. A releasable fastening which may be a double handed zip D may be located between the sheets and/or the edging strip. The fastening means may extend all or partially around the perimeter of the sheets. The bottom sheet may extend below the mattress and may be tucked under the mattress with an elasticated edging portion to secure it in place. A duvet may be integrated into the top sheet and an electrical heating means may be integrated into the lower sheet. The device is intended to reduce the effects of draughts or cold air on the occupants of the bed.
