The present invention relates generally to methods for enhancing the quality of life of an animal. A non-therapeutic method for improving the motor skills coordination or agility of a growing animal comprises feeding the animal an effective amount of a composition comprising: at least 10 % by weight protein; at least 4 % by weight fat; and at least 0.05 % by weight of at least one omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid.
