PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material for a structure for manufacturing a casting which hardly causes deterioration in a compression strength of a structure for manufacturing a casting obtained using a recycled raw material, and can be sufficiently utilized as a product.SOLUTION: There is provided a raw material for a structure for manufacturing a casting which contains 84 or more and less than 100 mass% of a virgin raw material and a recycled raw material, where the virgin raw material contains 10-50 mass% of an organic fiber, 2-50 mass% of an inorganic fiber, 20-60 mass% of inorganic particles and 5-50 mass% of a thermosetting resin, the recycled raw material has the total content of the organic fiber and the thermosetting resin in a predetermined range, the content of the inorganic fiber in a predetermined range, and the content of the inorganic particles in a predetermined range. In the recycled raw material, in a frequency distribution of the fiber length, the fiber having the fiber length in a range of 0.3 or more and less than 5.0 mm occupies 60-85% of the total, and the fiber having the fiber length in a range of less than 0.3 mm occupies 15-40%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
