PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of producing coated silver particles having a particle size distribution larger than that of coated silver particles produced by a conventional production method.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing coated silver particles which comprises: a first step, which includes mixing a silver compound which is decomposed by heating to generate metallic silver and an alkylamine, of obtaining a liquid composition comprising a complex compound containing the silver compound and the alkylamine; and a second step of heating and decomposing the complex compound contained in the liquid composition to generate coated silver particles, where the liquid composition obtained in the first step contains 1 to 8 mass% of water based on the total composition. There is provided a liquid composition in which a silver compound preferably contains silver oxalate as a main component, a complex compound with an alkylamine and water. There are provided coated silver particles preferably having a most frequent particle diameter of 0.2 to 0.6 μm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
