System of geometric positioning of a mechanical sub-assembly for a motor vehicle, in particular of an underbody component of a motor vehicle shell, the component parts (16 to 18) of the sub-assembly comprising reference points and the system comprising positioning guides (10 to 15), each intended to geometrically position a corresponding reference point, characterised in that the system comprises at least two adjustment devices (20, 21, 25), first and second respectively, and associated with two positioning guides to adjust their position, each of said adjustment devices being configured such as to selectively move the associated positioning guide in a maximum of two different directions of movement.
