Method for testing a compound to determine whether the compound is an inhibitor of deubiquitination proteasome high specificity, the method comprising contacting the compound with human regulatory particles 19S (RP 19S) 26S proteasome and determining whether the compound inhibits the activity of enzymes deubiquitination (DUB) UCHL5 and USP14, and an additional step of determining whether the compound affects the activity of enzymes not proteasomal associated DUB, wherein inhibiting activities UCHL5 and USP14 and activity not affected no proteasomal enzymes associated DUB indicates that the compound is an inhibitor of proteasome deubiquitination high specificity.
