The present invention relates to a method for generating traffic information having applied traffic jam information of an intended breakaway path. By considering position information of a vehicle driving along a path suggested after searching a path by traffic information and a change in a destination arrival consumption distance, an intended breakaway of the suggested path is determined, and traffic jam information with respect to a breakaway section is generated. Thus, breakaway section traffic jam information, which is related to breakaway driving caused by a traffic jam when traffic information for each lane is not applied, is applied to the traffic information, and more realistic and accurate traffic information can be provided. The method of the present invention comprises: a first step of receiving position information of a vehicle, and receiving traffic information with respect to a path to a destination determined by a user from a traffic information center; a second step of displaying a suggested path by calculating a path to the destination; a third step of determining whether the vehicle is driven in accordance with the suggested path; a fourth step of collecting traffic information including speed information for each link to the destination when the vehicle is driven on a breakaway path by intentionally breaking away from the suggested path; and a fifth step of generating breakaway section traffic jam information by comparing traffic information in accordance with the suggested path and traffic information in accordance with the breakaway path.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
