PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating a layer thickness distribution in a blast furnace, being capable of accurately estimating a layer thickness distribution of a charged material during operation of the blast furnace.SOLUTION: A method for estimating a layer thickness distribution in a blast furnace comprises: a measurement step of measuring a gas component distribution along a radial direction in the blast furnace by a device for measuring a gas component in the blast furnace (Step S13); and an estimation step of estimating a layer thickness distribution of an ore layer and a coke layer along a radial direction in the blast furnace during operation of the blast furnace, based on a correspondence relation which is predetermined (Step S15). The correspondence relation is based on a calculation result of a physical model for a plurality of mutually different input data, the calculation result being obtained from the physical model that simulates an interior of the blast furnace from the input data on the layer thickness distribution and that calculates the gas component distribution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
