A remaining English class hours amount calculation method and system, the method comprising the following steps: obtaining an ID of a user and an attended class hours amount (S101); calculating the difference between the attended class hours amount and a total course class hours amount, i.e. a remaining class hours amount (S102); obtaining a remaining class hours amount time if the remaining class hours amount is greater than a set range, and reminding of the English course progress of the user according to the size of the remaining time (S103). The method and system make it easy to remind of English course progress.
