The present invention relates to a new series of compounds derived from 2,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition that comprises said compounds and to the use thereof in the treatment or prevention of diseases caused by parasites, preferably protozoan parasites or fungi. These diseases can occur in humans and in animals.
