Provided is a gold coated silver plate shaped particle having a silver plate shaped particle and a gold coating layer, with the average thickness of the gold coating layer on main flat surfaces of the particle being 0.1 – 2 nm and the ratio of the average thickness of the gold coating layer on the main surfaces of the particle to the average thickness of the gold coating layer on the end surfaces of the particle being 0.02 or greater. Also provided are a dispersion fluid that includes the gold coated silver plate shaped particle and a dispersion medium, a manufacturing method for the same, an applied film that includes the gold coated plate shaped particle, and an antireflective optical member.
