The container 1 receives the beverage ingredients in the beverage ingredient chamber 4 defined by the chamber bottom 5 and the chamber walls 6. The vessel also includes a long handle (10) extending in a direction having a radial component outwardly from the chamber. The handle is provided with an outlet channel (13) extending from the chamber to the channel outlet provided at the free end of the handle. A beverage production system for manufacturing beverages is arranged to removably connect the vessel to the apparatus such that the beverage production system includes the automatic beverage production apparatus 31 and such vessel and the handle is vertically positioned with the channel outlet pointing downward. A method of making a beverage uses such a beverage manufacturing system wherein the vessel is connected to the apparatus such that the handle is vertically positioned with the channel outlet pointing downwardly to distribute the beverage substantially vertically from the beverage feed chamber.
