A method of resetting the head-up display carried via an SVS synthetic visualization system of information for piloting an aircraft that complies with the external real world comprises the steps of: .- launching (204) the method of resetting displaying all or part of correct driving information, put in a reset state, fixed on the display relative to the movement of the head and free with respect to the movement of the aircraft, then.- perform (206, 208, 210, 212 , 214) a series of N relative head orientation measurements, corresponding to vi shots, superimposing different elements of the driving information set in the registration state with corresponding bitters of the outer real world; and then determining (216) together the relative orientation M01 between the display D0 and the moving tracking element D1 and the relative orientation M3t of the inertial device D3 with respect to the Earth from a system of equations of dual harmonization using the measures.
