To provide: a sweet potato shochu that has a rich flavor as well as an enhanced refreshing and sharp flavor; a sweet potato shochu-containing carbonated beverage; a method for producing sweet potato shochu; and a sweet potato shochu flavor improving method.SOLUTION: The sweet potato shochu according to the present invention is a sweet potato shochu which is a pot distillation shochu and in which the content of β-citronellol is 120 to 600 ppb and the content of ethyl linoleate is 60 to 300 ppb.
