PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily and accurately differentiating whether a myopathy patient is suffering from inflammatory myopathy or non-inflammatory myopathy.SOLUTION: An inflammatory myopathy differentiation marker comprising an IP-10 or eotaxin, or a peptide fragment thereof, or comprising an IP-10 mRNA or eotaxin mRNA, or a nucleic acid fragment thereof is used to differentiate whether a myopathy patient is suffering from inflammatory myopathy or non-inflammatory myopathy based on the amount of the marker in a sample.SELECTED DRAWING: None
