A suspension device 1 has a locking element 7 as well as two flexible strips 3, 5 which are each attached to the locking element 7 with a first end 3A, SA and are releasably locked to the locking element at a location 3B, SB at a distance from this first end. A loop 4, 6 is formed between each flexible strip 3, 5 and the locking element 7, the size of which is adjustable. When a curtain 9 is suspended, two curtain eyes 11 are held together by the first loop 4 and the second loop 6 is attached to a carriage 15 displaceable along a curtain rail 13. The two curtain eyes can hereby be pulled tightly against each other through the first loop to form a good pleat and the length of the second loop can be adjusted to bring the curtain to the desired height.
