A method for preparing a copper mesh composite ionic liquid gel flexible transparent electrode is provided, wherein the method improves oxidation resistance of the electrode by forming an ionic liquid gel protective layer on the outer layer of the electrode. The copper mesh composite ionic liquid gel flexible transparent electrode comprises a flexible transparent polymer substrate, a copper mesh intermediate layer, and an ionic liquid gel outer layer. The electrode has the characteristics of low cost, good light transmission, long-term stability, and adjustable resistance. The transparent electrode is particularly suitable for use in manufacture of wearable electronic devices, flexible displays, solar cells, thin film transistors or OLED panels.
