The present invention relates to a composition for controlling a pine wilt disease comprising methyl salicylate, derivatives thereof or agriculturally/pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof as an effective component and a pine wilt control method using the same. The control effect of methyl salicylate was verified to be caused by inducible resistance in vitro. Generally, inducible resistance is effective in small quantities and exhibits medical effects by a mechanism of gene expression in plants. Therefore, inducible resistance is harmless to the human body and does not cause environmental pollution. Therefore, development of eco-friendly chemicals for the pine wilt disease is possible, and the possibility of development of a pine wilt disease control agent of a new concept using the chemicals can be increased. Also, when a conventional trunk injection method of a nematocide agent used to control the pine wilt disease is switched to a soil drench method or a foliage spray method of an inducible resistance agent, the pine wilt disease can be effectively controlled at low costs, and the spray application range of the pine wilt disease control agent can be widened.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2019
