To provide a quantum dot thin film which is a material system having no toxicity problem, capable of easily forming a thin film and highly stable, a quantum dot thin film and a formation method thereof, and also to provide a lighting device which, as application, is achieved to be effective in applications such as an LED element using the quantum dot thin film, an EL element using the quantum dot thin film, a discharge lamp using the quantum dot thin film and the quantum dot thin film.SOLUTION: In a thin film constituting a quantum dot, the quantum dot present in the thin film is composed of an inorganic halide perovskite, the thin film is formed by containing a metal oxide, and the quantum dot is stably supported by the oxide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
