the present invention relates to systems and methods for separating an auxiliary material from a jaw from an end actuator to a surgical stapling device. the end actuator, including the first and second jaws configured to hold the fabric between them, includes an auxiliary material that is releasably retained on at least one of the jaws. the end actuator also includes a firing bar configured to move between a position not fired at a proximal end of the end actuator and a position fired at a distal end of the end actuator. an auxiliary material removal set that can reside in the jaw is configured to couple and move with the firing bar to separate the auxiliary material from the surgical stapling device according to the firing bar that has the auxiliary material removal set attached to it returns from the triggered position to the non-triggered position.
