The present invention provides: artificial hair in which fiber bundles are not subject to drooping due to the weight thereof and are resilient, and which has an attractive appearance with a voluminous root; an artificial hair unit; an artificial hair application method; and a method of applying an artificial hair unit. The artificial hair comprises a base material, a plurality of fiber bundles, and a fixing thread. The base material has a first side generally extending in a first direction. The plurality of fiber bundles include a plurality of fiber portions and a connecting portion. The plurality of fiber portions are linear members including first ends. The connecting portion connects the first end side of the plurality of fiber portions and extends in a direction different from the direction in which the plurality of fiber portions extend. The fixing thread attaches portions of the fiber bundles in the vicinity of the connecting portions to the base material. The plurality of fiber bundles include an inclined fiber bundle which is sewn with the fixing thread in such a way that, when the base material is viewed in plan, the connecting portion is inclined at a first inclination angle with respect to the first direction.
