The present invention relates to a motion comparison device using a smart device and a dance comparison method through the motion comparison device. The motion comparison device using a smart device comprises: a smart device to play a video including a coordinate value uploaded online including YouTube, Naver, KakaoTalk, Instagram, Afreeca TV and the like and photograph a dance motion of a practicing person; a smart band to wirelessly apply a coordinate value in accordance with a dance motion when the practicing person views and follows a video played by the smart device; and an application installed in the smart device to compare the coordinate value applied by the smart band and the coordinate value in accordance with the video played by the smart device to compare dance motions in real time. Coordinate values transmitted in real time are received and stored by the smart device. A practicing person can check incorrectly moved portions and accurately moved portions in real time and follow a dance by comparing currently played videos by analyzing stored coordinate values by the application. Therefore, dance learning effects are increased since dances are compared by various forms of videos such as practicing person-alone following in which a practicing person follows a single dance, group following in which a plurality of practicing people follow a single dance, practicing person-alone following of a group dance, or group following in which a plurality of practicing people follow a group dance.
