FIELD: measurement technology.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of investigating the strength properties of solid materials by applying repetitive or pulsating forces and can be used to determine the areas of formation of voids and the value of the density of the clay-containing barrier material when creating safety barriers in the locations of radioactive wastes, as well as during decommissioning of uranium-graphite reactor. Method comprises collecting device for determining density of loose material, its installation on rigid fixed base, installation of dynamic loading plate on surface of selected barrier material and guides with movable calibrated load, sealing layer of barrier material by alternating lift of load to specified height and dropping onto plate of dynamic loading, repetition of operations, establishment of dependence of material density on dynamic parameters of plant. Device is assembled consisting of suspension bar, loading device with movable calibrated weight, dynamic loading plate, electronic unit, electric drive and control unit, which is then installed on the surface of the created safety barrier so that the lower part of the dynamic loading plate is in a plane parallel to the surface plane of the barrier, after which the mobile calibrated load of the loading device is lifted by the electric drive to a predetermined height, then dropping onto the dynamic loading plate and simultaneously measuring the dynamic parameters of the apparatus having correlation dependencies with the bulk barrier material density, after which the sequence of operations is repeated and the loose barrier material compaction is determined, and if deviation of average density from allowable value is carried out radiation examination area to identify location of area with insufficient compaction.;EFFECT: reduced time of compaction of bulk clay-containing barrier material without damage to its integrity, as well as increased accuracy of measurements.;1 cl, 2 dwg
